What We Do

Echelon BHM seeks to mobilize the next generation for The Salvation Army Birmingham Area Command by providing opportunities for young adults to engage with the organization through fellowship and networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering.

Echelon BHM provides opportunities to connect with peers, young professionals, business leaders, and philanthropists. Opportunity to engage with The Advisory Board of Directors is a key membership benefit, allowing members to connect with some of the top leaders in Birmingham.

Echelon BHM seeks to support the work of The Salvation Army largely through volunteering. Hand-on opportunities abound and allow members to actively and personally be a part of The Salvation Army’s effort to Do The Most Good in the community. Whether it’s serving a meal, planning events and projects for those getting assistance at the Center of Hope, or assisting with Christmas programs, service projects give members a chance to serve together and give back.

Echelon BHM supports The Salvation Army through fundraising and donations. We look forward to establishing an annual fundraising event in the future. We also try to incorporate some form of fundraising for all of our main events, raising money for The Salvation Army’s Education and Workforce Development department and feeding program.

The Salvation Army has been Doing the Most Good in Birmingham for more than 115 years. We are proud of its history and hopeful for its future. As the younger generation, we are rising up to support the continued work of rebuilding the lives of men, women, children, and families around us. We believe in The Salvation Army mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
